An elegant, evergreen and clumping tropical plant that has narrow foliage with a medium green upper surface and attractively marked with white lines running parallel to the lateral veins. The underside is light green.
Like many species of the Marantaceae family, Calathea Elliptica Vittata has the characteristic feature of folding up its leaves at dusk to dawn by means of the tiny geniculum, an angular knee-like joint connecting it to the petiole, resembling hands put together in prayer, hence the other common name, Prayer Plant. In the morning the leaves of Calathea Elliptica Vittata will return to normal position, that is, almost perpendicular to the petioles.
Ceramic flower pot is included.
This plant is roughly 25cm in height.
Just like in nature, there is going to be variation between each plant but will be similar to the picture in size and vibrance. We make every effort to ensure that you receive the healthiest and nicest plants possible. If the pictured ceramic pot is not available, we will substitute for a pot of similar color/size, and of equal or greater value.
